BSO: Part of Oakland Park Blvd. shut down after crash kills 1

Drivers are being told to avoid an area of Oakland Park Boulevard in Broward County after an early morning crash left one person dead.

Three cars collided early Saturday morning along East Oakland Park Boulevard, according to Broward Sheriff’s Office.

A 911 call was received shortly after 3:45 a.m. about a crash near the 200 block of East Oakland Park Boulevard.

When deputies arrived at the scene they found three vehicles involved with one of the cars smashed into a pole.

The male driver of that car was pronounced dead at the scene, but there were no other injuries, according to BSO.

When Local 10 News crews arrived at the scene, two cars were in the middle of the road with a third wrapped around a concrete utility pole.

The westbound lanes of Oakland Park Boulevard are closed and only one eastbound lane is open.
