Arsonist arrested after fire at Miami-Dade warehouse, police say
A man was harassing a woman at a storage unit before a fire on Wednesday in Miami-Dade County, a resident said.
Firefighters extinguished the fire, which was limited to an air conditioning unit on the side of the warehouse building on South Royal Poinciana Boulevard, the resident said.
A firefighter said the fire damaged a small area of the roof. The resident reported the same arsonist damaged a pickup truck. A police officer described the arsonist as an ex-boyfriend of the property owner.
The man who police officers suspected of setting the fire barricaded himself inside a home in Miami-Dade before police officers arrested him.
