Shocking video captured a car traveling on the wrong side of the road in Broward County, slamming into poles before flipping over and smashing into another car.
It happened Tuesday at approximately 5:55 p.m. That’s when Fort Lauderdale police responded to the fatal crash along Broward Boulevard and Northwest 31st Ave.
A white Ford was traveling north on Northwest 31st Ave. when the driver lost control and crashed into a silver Lexus.
In the video, the white Ford jumps the curb at a rapid speed before flipping over and colliding with the other car.
According to police, Jonathan Rowe, 39 years old was transported to Broward Health Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Jerry Kelly, 42, who was driving the Lexus along with a 2-year-old girl in the car was also transported to Broward Health Medical Center with minor injuries, police say.
“I didn’t see it coming,” Kelly told Local 10 News. “I just felt the impact.
The cars were later towed from the scene.
“My whole body is sore, my left arm is bothering me,” Kelly said, “But other than that, I’m blessed to be here with my daughter and my family.”
