Girl with ‘Dance’ T-shirt found dead in Lauderhill canal, police say
Detectives are investigating how a girl turned up dead and floating in a canal in Broward County’s city of Lauderhill.
According to Lt. Michael Santiago, a spokesman for the Lauderhill Police Department, she was between 10 to 13 years old and was not taller than five feet.
She was wearing blue jean shorts and a gray T-shirt with “Dance” in pink letters. She was barefoot and wore her hair in twists.
Santiago said the crime scene was along Northwest 21st Street, between Northwest 56th Avenue and Northwest 59th Terrace.
Detectives and the Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating her death. Officers are asking anyone with information about the case to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
