Man arrested on attempted murder charge in Opa-locka

Opa-locka police swarmed a neighborhood late Wednesday night, responding to a “non-contact” shooting, authorities confirmed Thursday.

It happened shortly before 11 p.m. near Ahmad Street and Dunad Avenue.

Local 10′s cameras spotted several evidence markers on the ground and multiple cruisers blocking traffic as detectives investigated the crime scene.

A spokesperson from the Opa-locka Police Department confirmed that 29-year-old Misael Acevedo was arrested in connection with the incident, which was domestic-related.

Jail records show he is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on charges of attempted murder, false imprisonment with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
