Man refusing to get out of Jeep in Plantation prompts SWAT team to respond

Officers arrested a man for hours after he refused to get out of a Jeep Cherokee on Friday in Plantation.

According to Officer Chavez Grant, a spokesman for the Plantation Police Department, officers responded to a “possible” vehicle burglary at Northeast Fourth Street and Holloway Drive.

“SWAT was activated and sometime later, the subject was taken into custody.”

The arrest was about 7:15 p.m. and officers reopened the area.
