Shoplifters use magnet, pliers to steal Versace sunglasses in Miami-Dade, police say
A man and a woman are facing charges Monday in Miami-Dade County for stealing three pairs of Versace sunglasses valued at $1,035 by removing the antishoplifting devices.
Axel Vasquezaros and Nicole Penazuniga are accused of shoplifting on Sunday at the Sunglass Hut boutique in Dolphin Mall, at 11401 NW 12 St., in Sweetwater.
Vasquezaros, 22, was armed with a knife and had a pair of black Husky pliers according to the arrest form. Penazuniga, 21, had a large round magnet in her purse, according to the arrest form.
Police officers were asking anyone with information about other related cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
