Miami-Dade fugitive accused of Hialeah fraud arrested in Spain
A woman who was accused of defrauding a 93-year-old man in Hialeah was arrested in Spain, authorities reported on Friday.
The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office confirmed the extradition unit was working with the U.S. Marshals and other federal agencies to bring Hadee Toledo back to Miami-Dade County for prosecution.
Officers arrested Toledo’s accomplice, her son Italo Nelli. He is facing charges of conspiracy to commit an organized scheme to defraud, and financial exploitation of an elderly person.
Investigators accused Toledo, 50, of falsifying documents to steal more than $500,000 from their victim who was hospitalized with COVID. They even sold his home, prosecutors said.
Toledo faces charges of exploitation of the elderly, conspiracy to commit an organized scheme to defraud, forgery, and the fraudulent use of personal identification.
