‘Teen’ on bike in Miramar grabbing women, police say
Miramar police have put out a flyer hoping someone might be able to identify possibly a teen who they say has been groping women and then riding away.
Police say they have received two reports of incidents: one on Monday, June 27 at 3 p.m. and the other on Tuesday, June 28 at 5 p.m.
Officers said one of the incidents happened near the 2100 block of Southwest 99th Avenue, and another along the 9600 block of Miramar Blvd, just outside Sea Castle Elementary.
According to reports, the suspect is described as being 13 to 15 years old. They said he approached two women and grabbed their buttocks. According to one of the victims, the teen grabbed her breast as well as her buttocks.
The victims said the teen was riding a black bicycle and then took off after the incidents.
Odette Arteaga told Local 10 News that a woman in her neighborhood is one of at least two victims who police say were inappropriately grabbed.
Miramar police have issued a flyer about a person on a bicycle groping women.
“She told us that he was grabbing people’s butt,” said Arteaga. “The next day we saw him riding his bike in the same area.”
“I’m amazed that it’s happening,” said Arteaga. “To be honest it makes me nervous.”
Police urge anyone with information or who thinks they recognize bike rider to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
