Family, coach ID 17-year-old fatally shot in Miami-Dade
Miami-Dade police are investigating a shooting that left a teenager dead Tuesday afternoon.
The shooting was reported on Sierra Drive in northwest Miami-Dade.
According to authorities, the victim knocked on someone’s door after being shot and then collapsed.
Multiple kids ran off after the shooting, according to police.
Police confirmed that the victim has since died. He was a student at North Miami High School and a member of the football team.
The victim’s coach, along with members of his friends and family, mourned at the scene. They later identified him as 17-year-old Mekhi Stevenson.
No arrests have been made.
