Man stabs wife on Saturday, fatally shoots her on Sunday, police say
A man who stabbed his wife on Saturday went on to kill her on Sunday in Miami-Dade County, police said.
Detectives said Car Watts allegedly offered Shandell Harris money to drop the charges on the stabbing and when she refused shot her until she collapsed, according to the arrest report.
“He followed her, chased her down, and shot her like an animal, like hunting,” said Aaron Batten, the victim’s cousin.
Watts, 45, a convicted felon, allegedly stood over her and continued shooting until he ran out of cartridges. He took off running, but a private security guard held him at gunpoint until officers arrived.
Harris was at the Miami-Dade Jewish Community Center during her daughter’s swimming lessons when Watts killed her, police said.
