Police investigating after man shot, injured in Liberty City
Miami police are investigating after a man was shot in Liberty City on Friday night.
Officer Kiara Delva, a spokeswoman for the Miami Police Department, said officers received a ShotSpotter alert around 8 p.m. near a home located in the area of Northwest 13th Avenue and 67th Street.
“Once officers arrived no victims were located, however, officers learned that a male showed up at Jackson Memorial Hospital suffering from an apparent gunshot wound,” Delva said.
“After briefly speaking with the male at the hospital, his statement appears to be consistent with the scene of where we received the ShotSpotter alert, she said.
CrimeWatch South Florida tweeted that the victim is a 23-year-old male.
Detectives are working towards determining all circumstances surrounding the incident.
The victim has not been identified by police.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
