South Beach crime: Man reports 2 held him at gunpoint over iPhone 13

A man was walking on Saturday night near Fifth Street and Meridian Avenue in South Beach when two men stole his iPhone 13 at gunpoint, according to the arrest form.

The victim and police officers used the Find My iPhone app to find Radames Viera with the iPhone 13 in his pocket and claimed he had bought it from someone, according to the arrest form.

The victim identified Viera, 40, as one of the robbers and officers arrested him at about 12:40 a.m., on Sunday, near the intersection of 19th Street and James Avenue, according to the arrest form. Viera did not have a gun.

Records show corrections officers booked Viera at about 6 a.m., on Sunday, at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and they were holding them there without bond on Monday. He is facing a charge of armed robbery with a deadly weapon.
