Walmart to hire 50,000 employees this spring

The largest retailer in the U.S. says it is looking to fill at least 50,000 positions by April.

The jobs are available in stores, campuses and supply chain facilities.

The retail industry has been experiencing a worker shortage, triggered in part by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last year, Walmart hired more than 13,000 pharmacy technicians and 4,500 truck drivers.

Recently, the retail giant started offering wages of $16.40 an hour and up to $30 an hour for some jobs in specific markets.
