WATCH LIVE: Miami-Dade state attorney discusses arrest of suspected serial killer

The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office will be officially charging real estate agent Willy Suarez Maceo with several murders Friday, labeling him a serial killer.

Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle spoke at a news conference Friday to discuss the case, where numerous surveillance videos were shown.

She showed video that traces the steps of who prosecutors said is Suarez Maceo. She described the first homicide, which was a stabbing.

“Manuel Perez was homeless and he had been sleeping outside on the sidewalk at the time of the stabbing. Two witnesses heard Mr. Perez yelling, ‘Help Help.’ One witness saw a man making an upward and downward movement as if striking the victim. The man was described as a thin built, Black male, 26 to 27 years of age, short hair, clean shaven and wearing a black T-shirt. Surveillance video from a nearby business captured a clear picture of an individual matching that description,” Rundle said.

She showed surveillance video from the scene, where a driver parked a car, got out and then the video followed him crossing the street. Another business camera shows the man walking towards the area where the scene of the crime took place. She pointed out that there is a very clear picture of the suspect, later identified as Suarez Maceo.

Suarez Maceo is currently charged with attempted murder in connection with one of the incident that occurred Dec. 21, but he will soon be charged with two murders.

The third incident is what broke this. There is surveillance that shows the shooting of a homeless man who was sleeping on the ground.

The first homicide was a stabbing, and the second was a shooting in which the victim survived after taking a bullet to the head.

The third shooting was where he was caught on video shooting from a car.

All of the victims were homeless and all were sleeping on the ground when they were killed or injured.

Records show Suarez Maceo does not have a prior criminal history in Florida.
