Man fatally shot outside Aventura condo building
Aventura police detectives are investigating after a man was gunned down Tuesday morning just outside a condominium building.
A Local 10 News crew was at the scene as detectives were spotted gathering near the entrance of the Turnberry on the Green building, located at 19501 W. Country Club Drive.
A body could be seen covered by a tarp behind a police vehicle.
“On today’s date, at 4:27, officers were dispatched to Turnberry on the Green. Upon officers’ arrival, they discovered a male shot and deceased near the entrance way of the complex,” Aventura police Sgt. Teresa Williams said.
Police said there is no danger to anyone else, although no suspects are in custody and police have not identified any persons of interest.
They said detectives are currently following up on “additional leads” provided by witnesses.
“There are currently no safety concerns in the area,” the police department said in a news release. “This remains a very active investigation and we are utilizing all of our resources in trying to find out who is responsible for this incident.”
