2 men found shot to death inside northwest Miami-Dade apartment
Miami-Dade police are investigating after two men were found shot to death Wednesday night.
According to authorities, a friend of the victims went to the apartment in the 2500 block of Northwest 92 Street around 8:50 p.m. to conduct a welfare check and found the front door unlocked.
Police said the friend entered the apartment and found the two men dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
Maurice Rios, who was one of the victims’ neighbors, said he heard six or seven gunshots.
“Pow, pow, pow, pow, pow, you know, but it was like fireworks to me,” he said.
Detectives investigate the deaths of two men found shot and killed at an efficiency apartment in Northwest Miami-Dade County.
Sky 10 was above the scene early Thursday morning after the victims’ bodies were brought outside the apartment with yellow tarps covering their bodies.
“Very nice people,” Rios said. “They used to pass by — they’d park their trucks right on the corner and they used to go walk everyday, everyday. I see them everyday.”
“People come rushing into the house, I guess their family members must have got a call or something like that, or whatever. Everybody come into the house, and I’m just shocked,” another neighbor, Melvin Sabree, said.
Sources say the victims also had a sheet or a piece of clothing covering their heads.
Sources confirmed there were no signs of any forced entry, leaving neighbors and detectives wondering who carried out the shooting and why.
“You never know what’s going to happen right next door — you never know,” Rios said.
Police said they have no suspect information at this time.
A motive is also unclear.
